About Us |
|
The Rusty Hook Fishing Club was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on July 9th, 1985. The Rusty Hook Fishing Club was organized to promote and support sport fishing conservation for the Galveston Bay Area and to support Texas Parks and Wildlife through volunteer work. The Rusty Hook Fishing Club sponsors various fishing tournaments such as the Annual Black Drum fishing tournament held in March, which is the largest of its kind on the Gulf Coast, monthly member tournaments and club outings. Among It’s many activities the Rusty Hook Fishing Club has been involved with Earth Day Texas City Dike cleanup, The Handicap Tournament, Big Brothers/Sisters, the Sunshine Kids, 4H Tackletime, Funfest, Kidfish, Fair on the Square kids fishing tournament, and other civic activities. Because of It’s non-profit status, most of the money collected from tournaments is paid out to the tournament winners, scholarships, and donations to Our Daily Bread in Galveston. Overall, the Rusty Hook Fishing Club is made up of civic minded individuals who work together to promote fishing and have a good time doing it. |
